Adult Mental Health Aware

This introductory four hour session raises awareness of mental health. It covers: what mental health is; how to challenge stigma; gives the learner basic knowledge of some common mental health issues; and how to look after their own mental health. It also provides the learner with the confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

Mental Health First Aid England - Adult Mental Health Aware
Suitable Candidate
Anyone who would like to increase their knowledge of Mental Health. Good for groups to increase awareness.
Pre-Course Requirements
This course is for everyone, however, due to the sensitive subjects that are covered on the course some learners can find it distressing. Our instructors will make every effort to make all learners feel safe and comfortable.

Assessment Methods
Attendance and participation is required in all sessions of the course.

  • Define mental health and some mental health issues
  • Understand factors that affect mental health
  • Identify the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues
  • Feel more confident about starting mental health conversations
  • Understand how to look after your own mental health
